Wan Marhaini Wan Ahmad is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Banking and Finance, Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya.

She has been a member of the Shariah Advisory Board for Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad since 2012 and prior to that for EonCap Islamic Bank Berhad in 2011. She is also a registered Shariah advisor for the Malaysian Islamic Capital Market.

She received secondary school education from Maahad Muhammadi lil Banat in Kelantan. She obtained her B.Syariah (Hons) from the University of Malaya, M.Econs. from the International Islamic University Malaysia and Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
