Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman Wan Ahmad is currently a professional representative and member of the Employers Provident Fund (EPF) investment panel, Malaysia’s biggest pension fund (USD 235bn).
Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman Wan Ahmad was the Chief Executive Officer of KWAP since May 2013 before his resignation in November 2018. He had served as the General Manager, Treasury Department of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) since October 2007. Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman started his working career with Malayan Banking Berhad since 1981, mostly in Treasury Department with two overseas postings at Hamburg, Germany as Chief Dealer and London, United Kingdom as Treasury Manager. After leaving Maybank in 1994, he served as CEO and Director with several companies within the Affin Group until 2005. He then briefly served Kemuncak Facilities Management Sdn Bhd and Izoma (M) Sdn Bhd, both as Executive Director of Finance until 2007.
Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman was appointed as the first Chairman of the Institutional Investors Council which was established in 2015 to represent the interest of institutional investors in Malaysia. He is also a member of the FTSE ESG Advisory Committee (based in London) since September 2015. His business acumen and talent in the industry had earned him a special recognition award from MSWG for contribution towards enhancing corporate governance practices in Malaysia. He also became a member of the Institute of Integrity Malaysia, corporate member of International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) and Asian Corporate Governance Association (ACGA) in 2015.
Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman holds a Bachelor of Economics majoring in Analytical Economic (Hons) from the University of Malaya.
