Datuk Dr. Yacob Mustafa is the Accountant General of Malaysia. He is also a Chartered Accountant (Malaysia), Fellow of Certified Practicing Accountant (Australia) and Chartered Public Finance Accountant (United Kingdom). Prior to his current position, he served as Deputy Accountant General (Corporate) and Deputy Accountant General (Operation) in the Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia. His career journey has spanned more than 30 years serving various government departments.

Currently, Datuk Dr. Yacob serves as Board Member of Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP), Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN), Lembaga Pembiayaan Perumahan Sektor Awam (LPPSA), and Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM).

He holds a degree in accounting from Universiti Malaya, a master’s degree in business administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a PhD in economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
