Mr. Jamaludin Bujang is the Managing Director, Malaysia at Gobi Partners. Gobi Partners is one of the longest standing venture capital firms with a Pan-Asian presence across North Asia, South Asia, and ASEAN with over USD 1.1bn in assets under management (AUM).

Jamaludin Bujang has eighteen (18) years of corporate experience in the private sector and five (5) years of experience in the public sector. He was appointed as the CEO and Board Member of Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd. (MAVCAP) on 1 November 2011, managing assets in excess of RM 1bn during his tenure. Jamal worked with 2 foreign-based finance institutions for a cumulative period of 3 years and spent 13 years in Malaysia’s leading investment bank, with extensive exposure to investment banking, particularly in equity research, asset and investment evaluation, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions. Senior management expertise gained from leading a support division (in finance, legal, corporate communications & planning, CT and administration) has sharpened his technical and public relations skills. His tenure in a leading investment bank saw his participation in formulating and implementing sound investment strategies and initiatives.

Prior to joining MAVCAP, Jamaludin was the Director Investment Division Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) where he led the Evaluation & Nurturing and the Monitoring & Compliance departments. He was responsible for corporate topline KPIs as well as achieving targets for dealflow, portfolio performance, CSR and others. He was tasked to evaluate investment proposals from various sectors of the economy. During his tenure in MTDC, he initiated and executed the implementation of investment database system.

Jamaludin graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration (Economics) from Wichita State University, Kansas, United States and a Masters degree in Business Law (Executive) from International Islamic University, Kuala Lumpur.
