Alan Cheah joined Xeraya in May 2012 as Head of Finance and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in April 2016. Alan has more than 20 years of audit, transaction advisory, corporate finance, taxation and risk management experience that includes international exposure. Before Xeraya, Alan was with Ernst & Young financial services based in Bermuda and New York.

At EY, Alan oversaw a portfolio of clients within the asset management industry specialising in hedge funds, private equity firms, mutual funds, investment management companies and fund administrators. He was actively involved with EY’s internal and external valuation teams in the valuation of private companies across various industries.

Before EY, Alan worked for KPMG in Shanghai and Hong Kong, where he managed a portfolio of clients within the manufacturing, infrastructure, technology and telecommunications and services industries.

Previously, Alan worked as a business and risk controller for IKEA in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore as part of the initial set-up team for IKEA stores. He started his career with EY in Malaysia within the assurance and business advisory practice.

Alan has a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) degree from Northern University of Malaysia, is a Certified Public Accountant from the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is a Chartered Accountant from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
