Shafini Hapiz joined Xeraya Capital in 2012 with a diverse background ranging across biotechnology, intellectual property and business management.

Prior to joining Xeraya, Shafini held several positions in the industry, including as a business development executive at Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation and an analyst for Deutsche Bank in Singapore and London. Both positions involved execution and review of business plans and also financial and technical due diligence.

Earlier in her career, she received exposure to intellectual property as a patent executive trainee at Patrick Mirandah & Co, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she was tasked with reviewing and executing patent applications related to the life sciences and technology fields.

Shafini holds a Bachelor of Science degree (with first class honours) in Biotechnology from the University of New South Wales in Australia, and a Master of Science degree (Distinction) in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing and Business Management from the University of Warwick in the UK.
